An optional upgrade to extend starter-generator brush life on helicopters using the Skurka 200SGL series starter generator is available from Skurka or one of their authorized service centers.  This involves upgrading the original 200SGL1009-10 brushes with long-life 200SGL1009-10X2 brushes.   Initial installation must be accomplished by the SAI factory or one of their authorized service centers.  While these brushes are more expensive, over time, operating costs for helicopter owners are expected to be substantially lower..  See SAI Service Bulletin 150SG128-1, Rev.
