Overview

The cured sealant maintains elastomeric properties after limited exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas. The uncured material is suitable for application by brush in thicknesses up to 25 mils. It cures at room temperature to form a resilient sealant with excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. The service temperature range is from -65°F (-54°C) to 250°F (121°C), with intermittent excursions up to 275°F (135°C). The A-1/2 classification indicates an application life of 1/2 hour. The storage life of P/S 870 Class A is at least 6 months when stored at temperatures below 80°F (27°C) in original, unopened containers.

Features & Benefits

  • Low temperature flexibility at -65°F (-54°C) with no cracking, checking, or loss of adhesion
  • Resistance to hydrocarbons for enhanced durability
  • Flexibility with no cracks after bending 180 degrees over a 0.125 inch (3.18 mm) mandrel
  • Repairable to itself, excellent for both freshly cured and fuel-aged fillets
  • Salt spray (fog) test for 670 hrs. (ASTM B117) shows no corrosion to base substrate or deterioration of sealant
  • Fungus resistant and non-nutrient
