Overview
Dayton Granger (DG) is the originator of the lightning diverter strip and has developed multiple types of lightning diverter strips. These strips are installed on various military and commercial aircraft throughout the world. Aircraft radome installations are vulnerable to lightning strike damage if not properly protected. DG's Transtrike (Round and Diamond Segments) and UltraGuard (Square Segments) lightning diverter strips are designed to minimize or prevent damage to aircraft radomes and other dielectric structures in the event of a lightning strike. The strips can withstand multiple lightning strikes. Decreasing the likelihood of lightning current from damaging or entering the radome is effectively accomplished with the proper installation of Transtrike or UltraGuard lightning diverter strips. Size and shapes of segments are determined by the frequency of the systems being protection.
