The ASA Carbon Monoxide detector is designed to protect the flight crew and passengers by alerting them to the presence of carbon monoxide (CO) in the cockpit. Carbon monoxide is a toxic, odorless, and tasteless gas produced by the incomplete combustion of gasoline, kerosene, or any other fossil fuel. Dangerous levels of CO can result from leaks in aircraft exhaust and heating systems. Exposure to CO may cause sickness, headaches, or even death. ASA-COD Detector Features: Warns of the presence of CO in the cockpit when the center spot on the card turns gray Center spot returns to normal color after it is exposed to fresh air Can be used in two (2) ways: as a personal portable CO detection device to wear on ID badge or lanyard or use adhesive back to stick on panel or dash Please note that unopened ASA carbon monoxide detectors have a shelf life of three (3) years. The shelf life on opened packages is 12 months.
