Overview

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EC-1838 B/A epoxy adhesive is a two-part 75 degrees f room temperature curable epoxy, offering high peel strength and impact resistance. This adhesive consists of base and accelerator, which is mixed in appropriate proportion for better results. It has a flash point greater than or equal to 200 degrees F for part-A/B. This product has a density of 1.04 grams per cubic centimeter for part-A and 1.3 grams per cubic centimeter for part-B. It has a viscosity of 3000 to 10,000 centipoises for part-A and 70,000 to 600,000 centipoises for part-B. The adhesive takes a curing time of 7 days with a temperature rating of up to 80 degrees F. It should be applied on surface within 60 minutes from mixing to ensure better positioning and adjustment prior to setting. This product ensures a tensile strength of 4290 psi and a shear strength of 3000 psi. The epoxy compound supporting elongation of 2 to 3%, comes in a 1-quart duo-pak cartridge. This liquid adhesive has a slight amine odored part-A in green and a mild epoxy odored part-B in white.
