048011-63691 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8657DL is a flame-retardant tape made from a durable polyurethane elastomer designed to protect aircraft flooring, joints, seams, and stringers in high-traffic and wet areas. This tape forms a reliable fluid barrier to prevent moisture and corrosive fluids from penetrating, reducing intergranular corrosion. It meets FAR 25.853 burn resistance requirements and FAA flammability standards for 14CFR 25.853(a). Featuring a specially formulated pressure-sensitive adhesive, 8657DL ensures fast, easy application and includes dual liners—a 3 mil polyethylene liner and a 2 mil polyester liner—for simplified installation. Applied over aircraft floor panels, it delivers exceptional puncture, tear, and abrasion resistance while maintaining long-term performance in demanding environments.
