Overview

3M? Scotch-Weld? Structural Adhesive Primer EC-1945-B/A is a two-part kit (base and accelerator). Our chemical curing primer is also corrosion resistant. Its formula helps improve adhesion of sealers, epoxies, and urethanes to most metals. It cures at room temperature (75?F) and offers a long application time to enable a variety of application methods.
EC-1945 B/A Structural Adhesive Primer requires no diluent, which helps eliminate guess work and the expense of additional chemicals. Our two-part chemically curing, corrosion resistant primer is designed for use with 3M aerospace adhesives. EC-1945 B/A primer improves adhesion of epoxies and urethanes to most metals as well as offering increased corrosion protection. EC-1945 B/A primer can be applied by dipping, brushing or spraying. Our formula provides corrosion protection inside and outside the bondline. EC-1945-B/A can be used to apply anti-corrosion coating on components. The stable coating also protects etched and anodized substrates for long term storage.

The Primer Advantage
3M? Scotch-Weld? Structural Adhesive Primer EC-1945-B/A can help improve production rates by offering quick flash off for no wait-time between passes. Let our unparalleled technical service and support show you how this surface treatment can make a difference to your primer line. 3M? Scotch-Weld? Structural Adhesive Primer EC-1945-B/A also offers these benefits:

  • Excellent corrosion protection
  • Robust mechanical performance
  • Fewer applications and faster drying cycle saves time
  • Dip, brush or spray application

Primed for Take-off
In general, 3M Scotch-Weld? structural adhesive primers complement the Scotch Weld? Structural Adhesives portfolio and can be used to protect prepared substrates to be bonded. They facilitate 'wet-out' of the primary adhesive film to the substrate, and are cured to enhance chemical resistance. Our adhesive primers help prepare the surfaces for the bonding agents and improve the conditions so that the adhesives are more effective and create stronger, longer lasting bonds.
