A3-06-3260 Artex Emergency Locator Transmitter 4000M is transport-grade Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) that operates on three frequencies: 406 MHz, 121.5 MHz, and 243.0 MHz. It uses alkaline batteries, making it exempt from FAA special condition requirements. The use of 4000M ELT reduces battery costs, avoids hazmat shipping, and simplifies disposal.
In an emergency, the A3-06-3260 ELT 4000M can be triggered manually from the cockpit or automatically by a G-Switch sensing a 2.3G or greater impact. It transmits a 406 MHz signal with GPS coordinates to Cospas-Sarsat satellites, which relay the information to a Mission Control Center. This allows search and rescue teams to locate the aircraft within 100 meters. Additionally, a 121.5 MHz homing signal helps ground forces find the exact spot.

A3-06-3260 ELT 4000M offers flexible installation with a two-wire remote switch that does not need aircraft power. It is compatible with Legacy Switch and Antenna Systems for easy retrofit. Using a single coax cable for all signals, it simplifies installation and reduces costs. The mounting tray matches legacy ARTEX systems, making it cost-effective.
