G.E.® Thermal Shield 9315M41P20

Thermal shield surrounds in an annular manner and protects sensitive parts by creating a barrier from excessive heat and thermal radiation. Thermal shields work by limiting the flow space for the hot gas and protecting the casings and supporting structures of the gas turbine, preventing the hot gases from impinging directly. They also lower the operating temperature of the components for improved durability.  By reducing heat loss and through thermal management, the shield contributes to the overall efficiency of the turbine.  
Part number 9315M41P20 Thermal Shield is made from specialized high-temperature resistant super alloys, which help extend the life of the protected components and maintains their performance.
