BATTERY: NICAD,W/CVH150KH CELL, 151CH1

The Saft 414429 nickel-cadmium battery is a robust power source featuring a steel case housing 20 individual CVH150KH cells in series, achieving a 24 V nominal output. These cells are placed in polyamide containers for effective insulation and compact arrangement, connected by high-conductivity, nickel-plated copper link bars and secured with plastic wedges and retainers. The battery design ensures efficient cooling, gas ventilation, and leakproof performance. This setup, enhanced by sintered nickel plates and potassium hydroxide electrolyte, delivers reliable power and longevity in various environments. The cells are held securely within the battery box by partitions, liners, spacers, and a cover, providing a durable and efficient power solution.

APPLICATION
• To start the engine or the APU
• On the ground, to provide power before electrical power is supplied to the aircraft systems
• In flight, if a malfunction or a failure occurs in the power supply system
The battery is charged on the aircraft by an on-board charger
• The charge control thermistor provides a signal to the charger to compensate the charge according to the battery temperature
• The thermostat will cut off the charger if the battery temperature exceeds a safe operating limit
• The battery plates store electrical power supplied by a charging source, and supply power when the battery is connected to a load circuit, i.e. when it discharges
