Exxon Mobil SHC™ 600 Series exceptional performance gear and bearing oil is orange in color and ensures better protection of gear teeth as well as other machine elements thereby minimizing equipment wear and breakdown. The liquid oil has a characteristic odor and comes in a 5-gallon container. It has a flash point of 410 degrees F, boiling point greater than 316 degrees C and a pouring point of -49 degrees F. This oil is made using the latest proprietary and patent pending Mobil SHC™ technology to offer excellent and balanced performance in demanding applications at high/low temperatures. It has a vapor density greater than 2 at 101 kilopascal and a relative density of 0.86 at 15 degrees C. The ISO 68-grade oil has a vapor pressure greater than 0.013 kilopascal at 20 degrees C and a viscosity of 68 centistokes at 40 degrees C. It minimizes the effects of micro slip in rolling contact bearings potentially extend rolling-element life. This product reduces friction and increase efficiency in sliding mechanisms including gearing, with potential for reduced power consumption and lower steady-state operating temperatures. It has low traction coefficient and high load carrying capability.
