Overview

P/S Class C is an integral fuel tank sealant. This material is designed for brush and fay sealing of fuel tanks and other aircraft fuselage sealing applications. The cured sealant maintains excellent elastomeric properties after prolonged exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas. P/S 890 Class C is a two-part, manganese dioxide cured polysulfide compound. It cures at room temperature to form a resilient sealant having excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates.

Features & Benefits

  • Thermal rupture resistance for reliable performance
  • Low temperature flexibility at -65°F (-54°C) with no cracking, checking, or loss of adhesion
  • Corrosion resistance with no loss of adhesion or softening after immersion in salt water
  • Resistance to hydrocarbons for enhanced durability
  • Flexibility with no cracks after bending 180 degrees over a 0.25 inch (3.18 mm) mandrel
  • Repairable to itself, excellent for both freshly cured and fuel-aged fillets
  • Outstanding resistance to water, alcohols, petroleum-based and synthetic lubricating oils, and petroleum-based hydraulic fluids
  • Fungus resistant and non-nutrient
