Overview

The cured sealant maintains excellent elastomeric properties after prolonged exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas. The uncured material is a low sag, thixotropic paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula. Unlike standard polysulfide fuel tank sealants, it can cure at low temperatures and is unaffected by changes in relative humidity. It has a service temperature range from -80°F (-62°C) to 320°F (160°C), with intermittent excursions up to 420°F (216°C). The B-1/2 classification indicates an application life of 1/2 hour. This sealant exhibits excellent adhesion to properly prepared common aircraft substrates.

Features & Benefits

  • Thermal rupture resistance for reliable performance
  • Low temperature flexibility at -80°F (-62°C) with no cracking, checking, or loss of adhesion
  • Resistance to hydrocarbons for enhanced durability
  • Flexibility with no cracks after bending 180 degrees over a 0.125 inch (3.18 mm) mandrel
  • Repairable to itself, excellent for both freshly cured and fuel-aged fillets
  • Fungus resistant and non-nutrient
