Overview

The cured sealant maintains excellent elastomeric properties after prolonged exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas. The mixed, uncured material is a low sag, thixotropic paste suitable for application via extrusion gun or spatula. Unlike standard polysulfide fuel tank sealants, PR-1828 Class B can cure at temperatures as low as 5°C (41°F) and is unaffected by changes in relative humidity. This sealant has excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. The B-1/2 classification indicates an application life of 1/2 hours. It has a service temperature range from -60°C (-76°F) to 150°C (302°F) with intermittent excursions of up to 215°C (419°F). The storage life of PR-1828 Class B is 9 months when stored in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4-27°C (39-81°F).
