Overview

PPG PRC-Desoto® 654 Series rapid cure fuel tank sealant is a two-component formulation such as part-A and part-B. Part-A of sealant comes in a liquid form and is black in color. Part-B of sealant comes in a solid form and is white in color. The part-A/B of sealant has a boiling point greater than 37.78 degrees C. Sealant part-B has a flash point of 65.56 degrees C. The part-A has VOC contents of 1 gram per liter and part-B has 22 grams per liter, for quick dry. Density of part-A sealant is 11.345 pounds per gallon while part-B possesses 12.1 pounds per gallon. It has a specific gravity of 1.47 and requires 3 hours for complete curing. Kinematic viscosity of sealant part-A is greater than 0.21 square centimeters per second at 40 degrees C. This product can withstand maximum tensile of 350 psi and has a service temperature range of -62 to 160 degrees C. It comes in a 6-ounce cartridge.
