Overview

PR-1422 Class B sealant is specifically formulated for fillet sealing of fuel tanks and other aircraft fuselage sealing applications. It maintains excellent performance after prolonged exposure to fuels, with a service temperature range from -65°F (-54°C) to 250°F (121°C), and can withstand intermittent excursions up to 275°F (135°C). The uncured material is a low sag, thixotropic paste that can be easily applied using an extrusion gun or spatula. Once cured at room temperature, it forms a resilient sealant with excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. The storage life of PR-1422 Class B is at least 9 months when stored in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 40°F (5°C) and 80°F (27°C).

Features & Benefits

  • The thermal rupture resistance allows it to retain pressure of 10 psi with negligible deformation.
  • It exhibits low temperature flexibility, showing no cracking, checking, or loss of adhesion at -65°F (-54°C).
  • The sealant has excellent corrosion resistance, with no corrosion, adhesion loss, softening, or blistering.
  • It demonstrates strong resistance to hydrocarbons, enhancing durability.
  • The resilient finish prevents the collection of dirt and debris in the blades.
  • It allows for increased water-washing intervals for gas turbine compressors.
  • The sealant is highly reliable in harsh environmental conditions.
  • It has non-nutrient properties that prevent fungal growth.
