Overview
FlyBoys PIVOT POWER USB flight deck portable EFB charger is designed to keep Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) and other approved devices charged during long flights, preventing battery depletion and ensuring continuous operation. Unlike standard 115VAC/400Hz outlets, this charger draws power directly from the aircraft’s 28VDC bus, significantly reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and maintaining compliance with DO-160, Section 21, Category H requirements for flight deck use. The internal DC-DC converter operates at 85% efficiency, converting 28VDC to device voltage and supplying over 10 watts of stable charging power with overload and short-circuit protection. Each channel includes supply-side thermal fuses and load-side fuses to provide triple-layer fail-safe protection. The charger features dual USB-C receptacles and a 12-36VDC NEMA L1-15P two-pin twist-lock aircraft power receptacle, with an operating temperature range from -40°C to +55°C. Installation and removal are quick and easy with a twist-lock design.
