Overview

This insulating paint features a dielectric strength rated at 1,500 volts per mil, allowing for thinner coatings. It can withstand continuous temperatures of 135°C (275°F) for extended periods. Glyptal 1201 offers outstanding protection against corrosion, water, acids, oil, and dust, preventing film cracking with prolonged aging. It becomes tack-free in approximately 30 minutes at room temperature and can be baked for a smooth finish. The film provides superior flexibility compared to other red sealers and can withstand rugged impacts. It meets the requirements of the MIL-E-22118 specification. Common applications include treatment of coils and armatures, internal coatings for engines, general plant maintenance, primer and finish for motor, generator, and transfer housings, anti-moisture coating on thermostats, water cooler and truck control parts, and sealing for pipes and studs.
