Overview
3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8663 is a transparent polyurethane elastomer tape (Part No. 8663-6) engineered to protect aircraft leading edges, vertical stabilizers and other surfaces from rain, sand, abrasion and impact. The 18 mil backing combines toughness—resistance to scratches, tears, punctures and erosion—with a long-aging, solvent-resistant pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive protected by a transparent release liner. The tape conforms over curved surfaces, can be applied over painted surfaces or painted after application, and removes cleanly when maintenance requires replacement.
