Overview
Bonderite® M-CR 1201 Aero, formerly known as Alodine 1201, is a liquid chromate conversion coating chemical designed for aluminum and its alloys. Part number 594418 produces a gold to tan coating that becomes an integral part of the metal surface, enhancing corrosion resistance and paint adhesion. This ready-to-use solution is applied by brush and does not require dilution or titration. It is certified to MIL-DTL-81706 for brush application and used as received for MIL-DTL-5541 work. The coating color may vary depending on alloy type, surface condition, and cleaning method. Proper cleaning with Bonderite® C-IC 33 Aero (Alumiprep 33) and thorough water rinsing are essential for optimal performance. The product should not be allowed to dry during application and must be rewetted if necessary before rinsing.
