Overview
With a fixture time of 10-30 seconds, the very low viscosity of Super Bonder® 496 makes it ideal for very tight gaps and close-fitting parts. It can also be used for bonding rubbers and plastics, including difficult-to-bond plastics such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) when used in conjunction with a primer like LOCTITE® SF 770. The adhesive cures rapidly when exposed to humidity, with atmospheric moisture initiating the curing process. Although full functional strength is developed in a relatively short time, curing continues for at least 24 hours before full chemical and solvent resistance is achieved.
