Overview
Boeing provides Tempest - Aero Accessories 215CC Overhauled Vaccum Pump. Tempest overhauled pumps are produced under RAPCO's FAA process specification and come with an FAA form 8130-3. The cooling fins provide more surface area to cool the pump and add life. Advanced coatings reduce vane wear and provide optimum vacuum. Inlet side bevels on rotor vane slots allow small particles to pass without destroying the pump. Tempest disassembles the core and all carbon is discarded. All parts are replaced with the possible exception of the end plates. The hard anodize is stripped from the center stator and the stator is inspected for cracks. Reconditioning of the I.D is performed and then each stator is inspected for proper dimensions. New hard anodize coating are received by the stator. An inspection is done for 100% of the parts that are re-used in the overhaul process to make sure that each part meets the requirements for FAA-Approved process specification 203-6-1009.
