Overview
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ DP420 Series structural epoxy adhesive is a two-part room temperature curable epoxy that offers high peel and shear strength. This adhesive consists of base and accelerator, which is mixed in 2:1 ratio for better results. It has a boiling point greater than or equal to 175 degrees C for part-A and greater than or equal to 200 degrees C for part-B. This product has a flash point greater than or equal to 340 degrees F for part-A and greater than or equal to 340 degrees F for part-B. It has a density of 1.12 for part-A and 1.14 grams per milliliter for part-B. The adhesive has a viscosity of 8000 to 14,000 centipoises for part-A and 22,000 to 45,000 centipoises for part-B. It takes a curing time of 7 days at 73 degrees F. This epoxy formula should be applied on surface within 15 minutes from mixing to ensure better positioning and adjustment prior to setting. It has a peeling strength of 50 piw and a shear strength of 4500 psi. The adhesive can be applied on various surfaces such as ceramic, glass and metals. This product comes in a 37-milliliter cartridge and offers excellent resistance to heat, chemical, high-temperature, solvents and outdoor weather. This mild odored adhesive paste has a black colored part-A and an amber colored part-B.
