The 3M™ 021200-31592 Adhesion Promoter 86A, is a liquid primer formulated to improve adhesion performance of 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tapes and Boots in demanding aerospace and industrial applications. Designed for use with acrylic adhesives, this promoter accelerates initial adhesion build rate on high-energy surfaces such as polyurethane paint, epoxy primers, and epoxy composites. The polyamide and isopropyl alcohol-based formula dries in approximately 10 minutes, minimizing downtime and maximizing work efficiency. Available in one-pint cans for large coverage areas and pre-saturated wipes for quick application on smaller surfaces, 3M™ Adhesion Promoter 86A simplifies installation and ensures reliable bonding. It is not intended for use where acrylic adhesive contacts aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, or glass.
