Overview

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ 2216 Series structural epoxy adhesive sticks with ceramic, fiberboard, glass, metals, plastic, rubber and wood. It is suitable for applications where excellent performance and flexible bonds are necessary. The flexible bond offers resistance to extreme shock, vibration and flexing, making this adhesive ideal for potting and transportation industry applications. This adhesive has medium viscosity that facilitates self-leveling while reducing running, dripping or migration. The adhesive is heat curable to minimize curing time from 7 days to 30 minutes. The pungent odored liquid adhesive is gray in color and comes in a 5-gallon pail. It has a flash point of greater than or equal to 201 degrees F. The modified epoxy-based adhesive has viscosity of 40000 to 80000 cP. When mixed in a 2:3 ratio, this adhesive becomes a low viscosity epoxy. It withstands a temperature rating of up to -423 degrees F. It has a peel strength of 25 piw at 75 degrees F and a shear strength of 3200 psi. This two-part epoxy adhesive offers a coverage of 320 square feet per gallon. It cures at room temperature and withstands very cold temperature without becoming brittle. The adhesive flows smoothly for precise dispensing.
