ROYCO 22CF and Mobilgrease 28 Meet the Same Specifications and are Available Now

With the unanticipated disruption in the supply of the AeroShell Grease 22 products, Boeing (formerly
Aviall) has identified the following alternate products (ROYCO 22CF and Mobilgrease 28) that meet the
MIL-PRF-81322 and DOD-G-24508 specifications that AeroShell Grease 22 meets.
ROYCO 22CF is a smooth, brown colored synthetic oil based grease which utilizes an inorganic gel
thickener for high temperature operation. Additives for oxidation and corrosion stability as well as load
carrying and rust protection are provided to improve severe duty performance over extreme temperature
ranges. It is intended for use in applications where severe operating conditions may include temperatures
from -65 to 400ºF. ROYCO 22CF water resistance and load carrying properties make it suitable for use in
wheel bearings, instruments, gear boxes, anti - friction bearings, rotor bearings, actuators and general
airframe applications. ROYCO 22CF is useful in many industrial applications as well which require a wide
latitude, severe duty general purpose grease.

Mobilgrease 28 is a red synthetic aircraft grease, recommended for use in landing wheel assemblies,
control systems and actuators, screw jacks, servo devices, sealed-bearing motors, oscillating bearings,
helicopter rotor bearings on military and civil aircraft and other mechanisms where high-friction reduction,
low-wear and low-lubricant friction losses are required. Mobilgrease 28 offers excellent protection against
wear and corrosion, extreme-pressure protection characteristics and allows wide operating temperature
range -54ºC to 177ºC (-65ºF to 350ºF). Additionally, Mobilgrease 28 provides superb bearing protection
and helps extend bearing life and reduce bearing replacement costs. Subject to equipment manufacturer
approvals, it can also be used on naval shipboard auxiliary machinery and where superseded
specifications MIL-G-81322 (WP), MIL-G-7711A, MIL-G-3545B, and MIL-G-25760A are recommended.
