PPG P/S 870 B-1/2 Corrosion Inhibitive Sealant, 6 oz

PPG P/S 870 B-1/2 Corrosion Inhibitive Sealant, 6 oz

PPG Aerospace PRC DeSoto

Part # PS870B1-2=5N

This corrosion-inhibitive sealant creates a protective barrier against corrosion in aluminum alloys and dissimilar metals. It features a two-part manganese dioxide-cured poly-sulfide formulation, suitable for aircraft applications. The low-sag paste can be applied easily and maintains elastomeric properties after exposure to jet fuel and aviation gas, but is not for fuel tanks.

Overview

View BMS 5-95 spec product . PS870B1-2 is a corrosive inhibit sealant. The primary function of the sealant is to create a protective barrier that inhibits the formation and progression of corrosion. This material acts as an effective barrier against the common causes of corrosion in aluminum alloys or between dissimilar metals. They help extend the lifespan of components by providing long-lasting protection. The cured sealant maintains elastomeric properties after limited exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas. P/S 870 Class B is a two-part manganese dioxide-cured poly-sulfide compound. The uncured material is a low-sag, thixotropic paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula.  Part number PS870B1-2 works to form resilient sealing with excellent adhesion to aircraft substrates. Corrosion protection is for interior/exterior aircraft, not suitable for integral fuel tanks.
