Met-L-Chek D70-160Z (D-70) is a non-aqueous developer for LPI/DPI in NDT. It uses talc in fast-evaporating isopropanol to draw penetrant from flaws, enhancing defect visibility. Supplied in a 16 oz aerosol for easy, uniform application.

Overview
D-70 is applied to a pre-cleaned, dry surface after excess penetrant removal. The solvent dissolves residual penetrant near flaws and carries the absorbent powder into the defect. As the solvent evaporates, the white powder absorbs the penetrant, causing it to bleed out and enlarge the visible indication, improving detectability. Due to flammable solvents, proper ventilation and safety precautions are essential.
