Overview

8263 Artex ELT 400 is a transport-grade Emergency Locator Transmitter that uses alkaline batteries, eliminating the need for FAA special condition compliance. It offers low cost of ownership with reduced battery expenses, no hazmat shipping, and easy disposal. An integrated NAV interface (ARINC429) removes the need for a separate NAV unit, saving installation costs. The ELT 4000 activates manually via a cockpit switch or automatically upon impact. It sends a 406 MHz signal with GPS coordinates to Cospas-Sarsat satellites, which relay the information to the nearest Search and Rescue agency. A 121.5 MHz homing signal helps responders locate the exact emergency site within 100 meters. Installation is simple with flexible options, including TSO approval with legacy systems. The single coax output reduces installation complexity and cost, making it a cost-effective retrofit solution. Artex 8263 offers Base Pack ELT 4000 with Blade Antenna and Remote Switch.
