Overview

Loctite 246 is a blue, opaque, thixotropic, dimethacrylate ester acrylic threadlocker. It is particularly suitable for heavy duty applications such as bolts used in transmissions, construction equipment or railroad assemblies where resistance to heavy shock, vibration and stress levels is required along with exposure to elevated temperatures. The thixotropic nature of Loctite 246 reduces the migration of liquid product after application to the substrate. Where cure speed is unacceptably long, or large gaps are present, applying activator to the surface will improve cure speed. Recommended activators are Activator SF 7471 and SF 7649. Loctite 246 Features: Normal disassembly with standard hand tools Thixotropic nature reduces the migration of liquid product after application Resistant to heavy shock, vibration and stress levels Resistant to exposure to elevated temperatures Loctite 246 Technical Information: Technology: Acrylic Cure Type: Anaerobic Cure Color: Blue Storage Temperature: 46 - 69°F Breakaway Torque (ISO 10964 at 22°C): Substrate Dependent Prevail Torque (ISO 10964 at 22°C): Substrate Dependent Service Temperature: -65 - 450°F Full Cure Temperature : 77°F Cure Time: Temperature and Substrate Dependent Work Time: 5 minutes Strength: Medium
