Loctite® 2216 adhesive withstands very cold temperatures without becoming brittle, forming a flexible bond that resists extreme shock, vibration, flexing, and thermal expansion/contraction. It performs well in extreme environments, including excellent results in cryogenic bonding applications (down to -423°F or -253°C) and can withstand temperatures up to 180°F (82°C) during use. This adhesive bonds well to a variety of similar and dissimilar substrates, including metals, plastics, rubbers, wood, ceramics, and masonry products. It has a 90-minute work life, allowing for positioning and adjustment, and a full cure takes approximately 7 days at 72°F (22°C), which can be accelerated with heat (e.g., 30 minutes at 200°F/93°C). Typical applications include impact resistance, potting, bonding, encapsulating, sealing, and general aerospace and transportation bonding where vibrations and movement are common.
