The 2024 Private Pilot Textbook has been updated for FAA-S-ACS-6C tasks in addition to the most up-to-date content with innovative new graphics and design elements that engage students and make complex subjects easier to understand. The entire textbook has been updated along with new subjects introduced such as energy management, graphic weather products, and threat and error management. In addition, the Textbook now introduces Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA). The latest version of the Guided Flight Discovery (GFD) Private Pilot textbook combines the most up-to-date content with innovative new graphics and design elements that engage students and make complex subjects easier to understand. The textbook features new sections on subjects such as ATC services, GPS navigation, airspace, flight information sources, and cross-country flying. Throughout the textbook students are introduced to the latest developments in flight operations, ranging from ADS-B and the FAA’s NextGen system to digital instrument displays, electronic flight bags, and the online capabilities of Flight Service. Content was streamlined to provide the next generation of students with concise, comprehensive explanations of the subject matter required to pass both the aeronautical knowledge and practical tests.
