What are the aircraft wheel types?
There are several types of aircraft wheels, including well-based, detachable flange, and split-hub wheels. A well-based wheel is similar to that of a car and uses a tubed tire. Detachable flange wheels allow one side of the wheel to be removed with a locking ring and uses tubeless tires. Split-hub wheels also use a tubeless tire and is two halves bolted together once the tire has been fitted to it.
