Part Lookup

  • 3 Marketplaces, 1 Search – When a user looks up a part number, BDI or BDSI part numbers along with inventory availability will be displayed.  A link will be provided to purchase the parts directly from BDI or BDSI.
  • Did You Mean? – When a user searches for a part number and enters in an error like putting the dash in the wrong place, instead of receiving a message that the part cannot be found, alternative results will be displayed.
  • Shelf Life – Total shelf life for the part will now be displayed, along with the minimum remaining shelf life for orders placed with an AOG or Work Stoppage priority and the minimum remaining shelf life for orders placed with an Urgent Stock Replenishment and Routine priority.
  • MOQ / IOQ Parts with Inventory – Improved communication on parts with available inventory, and that have a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) or Incremental Order Quantity (IOQ), so that the user knows that they can order a quantity less than MOQ or IOQ as long as there is enough inventory to support their order.
  • Contract Visibility – When a user views part information for a part that is subject to an exclusive purchasing contract, a banner will be displayed, indicating this to the user.
  • Non-Stock Contract Parts – When a user views a part that is non-stocked, has no inventory but has a contracted lead time with a supplier, a message will be displayed indicating that the part is made to order with a firm lead time.
  • Part Search Performance Improvement – Part searches for multiple part numbers will run faster since the results for individual parts will be shown on the page instead of waiting until data is collected for all the parts.
  • Used Part Pricing – If used pricing exists for a part number, it will be displayed.
  • Interchangeability Chain Changes – When the user views a part that has interchangeability, the PART Page will display parts preceding the requested part number that have a one-way forward relationship, so the entire chain will be shown regardless of which part number was requested.

Order Status

  • Enhanced Order Confirmation – When placing an order, an enhanced order confirmation page will highlight differences between what the user entered and what is happening on their order.  For example, the user wants the part to ship today and the scheduled ship date is the next day – that information will be displayed so the user is aware at the time of order placement.
  • Improved Status for 3rd Party and PTO Orders – Updates have been made to how order status is set for 3rd party and procure to order (PTO) orders.  This includes orders filled by BDI and BDSI.  We will only mark something as scheduled when the supplier has sent a confirmation to their purchase order. Until then, the order will have a status of not scheduled.
  • Order Detail to Show Spec 2000 Note – The order detail page will now display the note that the user included on their Spec 2000 order.  While the user can also see this on the message associated with the order, it will now also be displayed in its own field.

Ship To

  • Email Address for Customer Pickup – When adding or revising a ship to code, the user can include an email address when the carrier or oversize carrier is customer pickup.  This is in addition to a name and phone number.
  • Tax Exemption Notification – When a ship to code is created with a final destination address in the United States, a warning will be displayed that a tax exemption will be required or state taxes may be applied. The user will also be provided a link to provide the exemption or ask for additional information.
We look forward to improving your experience even more in 2022 and keeping you updated as enhancements are made throughout the year.
