Overview

This sealant is a brushable consistency sealing compound designed for rapid sealing of integral fuel tanks. The cured sealant maintains excellent elastomeric properties after prolonged exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas. PPG PR-1826 Class A is a two-part epoxy cured PPG Permapol P-3 polythioether compound. The uncured material can be applied by brush in thicknesses up to 25 mils (0.6 mm) without dripping or flowing from vertical or overhead surfaces. Unlike standard polysulfide fuel tank sealants, it can cure at low temperatures down to 0°F (-18°C) and is unaffected by changes in relative humidity. This sealant has excellent adhesion to common substrates when correctly primed with PPG PR-1826 AP adhesion promoter. The A-1/2 classification indicates an application life of 1/2 hours.
