Overview
The Lamar Technologies Power Products Activator Battery Charger 24V, part number 282, is a direct-connect, fully automatic charger designed to charge and maintain 24 V military and aviation batteries from zero to full capacity. The Activator 282 uses a microprocessor-controlled, multi-step charge algorithm including high-current pulses for deeply discharged batteries, a conditioning mode for Ni-Cads and lead-acid rejuvenation, and continuous standby operation without conventional trickle charging. The unit displays battery voltage on a digital voltmeter during charge and standby and includes protections for short-cell, over-temperature, and non-responsive batteries, making it suitable for field and depot maintenance worldwide.
